FAQ
When is the Rust force wipe?
On the first Thursday of every month, when Facepunch ships the monthly update — at 7 PM UK time. That is 19:00 UTC in winter and 18:00 UTC while the UK is on summer time — usually 2 PM Eastern.
Why does the force wipe time change between summer and winter?
The time follows London. From the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October the UK is on British Summer Time (UTC+1), so the wipe lands at 18:00 UTC; the rest of the year it is 19:00 UTC. If your clocks do not change on the same dates, your local wipe time moves by an hour.
What resets on force wipe?
The map on every server: bases, items, resources and tool cupboards. After the update a server cannot keep running the old map save, so everyone starts a new map on the same day.
Are blueprints (BPs) wiped on force wipe?
It depends on the server. Learned blueprints are cleared by the server owner: some do it every force wipe, others less often, and many say so in the name — “No BP Wipes”. Check your server’s description or Discord for the exact rule.
Is a force wipe the same as a global wipe?
Yes. Force wipe is the mandatory monthly wipe; Russian-speaking players call it the “global”. Regular wipes between force wipes are set by each server: weekly, every two weeks or only on force wipe.
When do servers come back after the force wipe?
As soon as the owner installs the update: official and big community servers are usually back almost right away, modded ones can take longer because their plugins need updating too.
